Grandparents and carers

Grandparents Hello, grandparents and carers! Welcome to this section of our site that is dedicated to you. Even though you may have raised children before, you may find that you need help to assist you.

There are many challenges in caring for children particularly if you have a major child-rearing role. These can range from budget concerns through to emotional turmoil. Remember we all need support, and it is important to ask for help if you need it.

We hope this website will help you to access resources that can assist for you as a carer or grandparent.

The following links have been selected by the Lower Great Southern Communities for Children team. We have made every effort to select relevant sites that are informative and accurate. If you have any concerns see your GP, Practice Nurse or Child Health Nurse.

Although this next site has been designed with parents as the focus, it has some great articles on how to support children whose parents have separated, and how to help them adjust to their new family structures: www.chatfirst.com.au
